Tainted LOVE

One of my college sorority sisters favorite all time 80s song is TAinted Love! Some of our most fun moments were awaiting Mel and The Party Hats to play that one, and when it finally made the set list, we danced our hearts off as we sang every word. I still dance around the car or house every time  I hear it, and I always imagine Amy and her moves as if she’s right there dancing with me! Sometimes I even record myself and snap it to her! As many of you know, I have been on the dating apps and I have decided that song appropriately describes the the way of the app world in my eyes. First of...

Keeping it Simple

A good friend of mine has often said to me, “Nothing worth having is easy.” Well, the more life I live, the more battles and victories I face, I find this to be a true statement.  One might say that easy and simple are synonymous, but I agree to disagree. In my experiences, something can be simple, but not necessarily easy. The good news here is all the things I believe are worth having are actually simple in a sense,  but that doesn’t mean it’s going to be easy to maintain or acquire them. When the Mess becomes the Message

I recently had a friend express to me that she was a mess. Now let me preface this with the sheer fact that in the past two years her world has been completely turned upside down. Now in my opinion, she is handling it like a boss!! She hasn’t put any crazy passive aggressive posts about it on Facebook or asked for unspoken prayer requests to spark questions. She hasn’t run all over her town expressing animosity for her ex husband. She has handled  the whole situation with grace and dignity. Her focus has been to do what was best  for her children and take on this co parenting thing like a champ! If anyone could or should be bitter,...

Wrapping it Up

I grew up hearing my Mom tell me an amazing story about Letting go and Letting God. She was at a fork in the road with two young children and holding onto fears and an Illusion that she had control over her troubles. She drove to a grassy spot at point park and there at that beautiful place, she wrapped up all her problems and put them in a box. She tied up the box and right there on that grassy spot she handed them all to God! When she spoke of the moment, she told of the peace that came over her. She kept that peace up until to the day she died.  Although there were always times throughout...

Women Wonderful and Fearless

For 9 years now, I have owned and operated a boutique called Frolic.  I can’t even begin to tell you the number of women, young, old, big, small, short, tall, weak, strong, confident, self defeating, fearless, fearful, kind, rude, complimentary, or degrading who have graced my presence. Here is what I can tell you about all these women. Every one of them is beautiful and special in some sort of way, and few of them recognize it. I am right there among them. Why as women are we so critical of ourselves? I had a new customer come in on Tuesday and she sparked my thinking on the subject as she tried on clothing and each time she looked In...
