An Irish Blessing

An Old Irish Blessing

May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind always be at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
and rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.

This has always been one of my all time favorites. I think one of the hardest things in life is letting go. Letting go of fears, relationships, loved ones, old behaviors, or maybe just ideas of how " we" think things should be. Throughout my life I've had to let go of a lot of things. Most likely all of us have had one person or another say to
Us, "if you love something set it free, it will come back to you if it's meant to be." As cliche as it sounds, as frustrating as it is when someone says this to you and you don't want to let go, trust me it's simply the truth. When we fight so hard to hold on to something or someone, our grasp gets weak and in time it will slip right out of our hands. I believe that the things we try to control ultimately end up controlling us. This is why I love this blessing. Its all about being selfless and wanting the best life has to offer for fellow man, and the best part of it all is releasing them to the palm of Gods hand for there is no better place to be. I can't tell you how many times I have lost something or someone and I thought my life was falling apart. Now, I know that was MY plan falling apart. Gods plan is always better than mine. So today I let go much easier of things that aren't in my grasp. I believe that whAt I have lost was merely an illusion of what I thought life should be. Today I can let go with love, and I have faith that if it's meant to be, it will be because it's not in my hands. So on this day of the Irish, wear your green, try not to get pinched, and have a Happy Saint Patrick's Day... and until we meet again, May God hold you in the palm of his hands.
